The UK’s second-largest water company, moved to a new £60m eco-friendly operations centre in 2010, housing 1,700 staff. It was designed to have one of the lowest carbon footprints of any office in Britain, with low energy use and a central location.
Coventry City Council worked closely with Severn Trent to provide dedicated relocation support. Staff familiarisation tours were provided, information on transport and travel, housing, schools, healthcare were provided to staff.
Once the company had moved to Coventry, we continued to work with their HR Team to exhibit at their staff open days to promote local amenities, we linked them up to other organisations and community projects as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programme and we developed a staff discount scheme for staff to use at city centre shops and restaurants.
