The GE Power Conversion Rotating Machines, Rugby (RMR) Factory is a naval propulsion centre of excellence,producing quiet and shock-resistant electric motors for naval applications. RMR has the largest air vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI) tank in the world, used to seal the insulation in high-voltage motors and generators. The process prevents leaks and corrosion while improving heat dissipation making for efficient, reliable long-life motors.

The Advanced Propulsion Centre located at the University of Warwick – showcases the £1bn, 10 year commitment from the UK Government to invest in powertrain technology of the future.

The National Automotive Innovation Centre in Coventry – co-locates 1000 engineers and academics to develop advanced propulsion systems and connected and autonomous vehicle technologies.

Coventry University has a long association with automotive design and today the Centre for Mobility & Transport is at the cutting edge of CAV and engineering. The National Transport Design Centre (NTDC) and Centre for Advanced Low Carbon Propulsion Systems (C-ALPS) are recent £60m+ investments.

HORIBA MIRA – a world-class vehicle engineering testing consultancy, with a range of track and test facilities, and a leader in automotive capabilities. It is located alongside MIRA Technology Park, Europe’s fastest growing R&D campus with many companies active in connected & autonomous vehicle research.

The Centre for Connected & Autonomous Automotive Research (CCAAR) is a unique automotive research centre dedicated to developing intelligent, connected vehicle technology, a partnership between HORIBA-MIRA and Coventry University.
